As fall slowly starts to creep in I start to get EXCITED for my favorite flavors and treats. Walnuts are a great fall flavor that can be used both sweet and savory. Today, I made a version of a candied walnut that does not contain any refined sugars or unnatural ingredients. Just walnuts and pure maple syrup combined are FALL on a plate! These candied nuts will go great on a fall salad, on a cheese platter, as a snack with an apple or simply popped as a treat like my kiddos and I just did!
You do not need to be a chef to make this yummy treat....it's easy, it's quick, and it's clean!
2 C. walnuts
6-7 T. Pure Maple Syrup
Pinch of salt
Put walnuts in a dry fry pan and add maple syrup. Turn heat up to medium/high and stir until the walnuts are toasted and the syrup has caramelized - approx. 5 minutes.
Spread on a baking sheet to cool! ENJOY!
